The most exciting game of round 17 in the BNXT League took place in Aalst. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-rankedKortrijk (12-4) to twelfth ranked Okapi Aalst (8-8) 84-83 on Thursday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kortrijk. 28 personal fouls committed by Kortrijk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Niels Van Den Eynde (179-2000) stepped up and scored 25 points and 6 assists for the winners and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-1986) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. American Eric Reed Jr (192-2000, college: MSU) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Niels De Ridder (195-2001) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kortrijk players scored in double figures. Kortrijk's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aalst moved-up to eleventh place. Kortrijk at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost.
